Providing Clean Water and a Home for Orphans in Need

Meet David and Sarah Maina, our passionate National Directors in Kenya. David’s journey of faith began in rural Kenya, where at age ten he dedicated his life to Jesus. His zeal for sharing the Gospel led him to Sarah, who would become both his partner in life and ministry. Despite starting his career with the Ministry of Water Development, David felt called to a deeper mission—bringing both physical and spiritual refreshment to his community.

In 1987, David founded The Lifewater Kenya, a Christian ministry dedicated to providing clean drinking water while sharing the message of Jesus, the ‘living water.’ Working with local communities, David and Sarah ensure that each water well, which serves up to 1,000 people, is a sustainable source of life and hope.

Their work also extends to the Samaritan Girls and Boys Home orphanages, where nearly 100 children find a safe and loving environment to grow and learn. Alongside this, David and Sarah’s ministry provides feeding programs, Bible clubs, and health services to children and families living in inner-city slums and rural villages. At their church, the African Inland Church in the Rhoda Slum near Nakuru Game Park, they serve together to uplift and guide those in need.
