Transforming Lives through Education, Vocational Training, and Compassion
Meet Alvaro and Leticia Perdomo, our National Directors in Guatemala. Alvaroโs journey from a challenging childhood in Guatemala City to a degree in architecture and a thriving construction business is a testament to the power of perseverance. Yet, he felt a calling beyond his career: to serve the children of Guatemala and offer them a brighter future. Together with Leticia, he started by offering Bible lessons and sandwiches to a few children. Today, hundreds of children benefit from their dedication and vision.
Alvaro and Leticiaโs mission extends beyond academics. Through the Shalom Baptist Church and Manos de Amor medical clinic, they provide medical and dental care, along with a breakfast program that ensures 300 children start each day with a nutritious meal.
Education
The “Shalom” Christian School, which provides quality education to 750 children, giving them the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty.
Vocational Training
Over 300 children participate in programs like cosmetology, cooking, culinary arts, electrical work, plumbing, welding, masonry, carpentry, and computer skillsโpreparing them for self-sufficient futures.
